Institut Français d'Afghanistan | Kabul

The Institut Français d'Afghanistan is a well established institution promoting the exchange of cultures, arts and knowledge. The facility was originally opened in 1973 and has since then served as a center for exchange between the east and west until the begin of political turmoil in Kabul. After its re-opening in 2001, the institute has undergone a complete rehabilitation. S.E.E. developed the architectural design and managed the complete implementation of the rehabilitation. Major features include a permanent exhibition space, a library and an outdoor pavilion with screening facilities. Learning facilities and administration are completely reorganized in order to serve more students in Kabul. The institute also includes one of Kabul’s largest auditorium spaces suitable for concerts, theater performances, and film screening as well as public discussions. Construction completed in 2009.
